MOST TEENS DON'T is a campaign to help teenagers and adults throughout Eaton, Ingham, and Clinton counties know the REAL facts! When it comes to risky behavior such as tobacco, marijuana, alcohol, sex and bullying, MOST TEENS are making smart choices.
The MOST TEENS DON'T campaign includes media messaging as well as a dedicated group of student ambassadors who are getting the MOST TEENS DON’T message out in their schools. They are using special events, posters, bracelets, t-shirts, cell phones, social networking websites, and other creative ways to let everybody know that MOST TEENS DON'T!
You can join the MOST TEENS DON’T campaign by (1) simply taking the pledge and adding your first name and school to our growing list of teenagers making smart choices, or (2) becoming a MTD Student Ambassador.
While today’s media often focuses on the problems of today’s youth, the MOST TEENS DON’T campaign highlights the positive messages that the MiPHY survey has documented. The MiPHY survey is taken online by students across Michigan in 9th and 11th grades. It was developed by the Michigan Department of Community Health and the Michigan Department of Education to present a more comprehensive and accurate picture of risky teenage behavior.
The results? In the Tri-County area:
68% had never tried marijuana.
75% had not consumed alcohol in the last 30 days.
57% had never had sex.
75% had never smoked a whole cigarette.
Help us celebrate the teenagers throughout the area who are making smart choices!
